The Thetis Island Local Trust Committee asked staff to prepare a report on options associated with a soil deposit and removal bylaw, after identifying an opportunity to add a minor project to its work program.[1]

The committee also asked staff, working with the chair, to write to the Cowichan Valley Regional District about revisiting a 2022 memorandum of understanding.[1]

The committee approved a response letter to the Ministry concerning Abrupt Shellfish Inc.’s Crown lease application, with amendments to the letter, and directed staff to find a place on the website for the Ministry’s letter and the committee’s response.[1]

During public comments, a speaker asked about comparing property taxes with benefits received on Thetis Island and requested online information showing tax trends against budgets and past actual expenses.[1]

Trustee Luckham said he could forward links to materials on Thetis Island costs, while Chair Elliott said a trend over time could be produced and described changes to corporate planning and reporting as forthcoming.[2]

I will say, I mean, I'm new to the financial planning process here at the Allens Trust. And there's, there's, but there's two things that are changing. And they may fundamentally change how we do this kind of assessment, sort of planning assessment, and then reporting out work going forward.
