The proposed changes would add currently undesignated marine waters around Scott, Dayman and Hudson islands to the Thetis Associated Islands Official Community Plan area and place currently unzoned waters in the Marine General (W1) zone, according to the meeting minutes.[1]
The Thetis Island Local Trust Committee gave third readings to proposed bylaws 113 and 114 at its March 7 special meeting.[1]
The committee also forwarded both bylaws to the Islands Trust Executive Committee for approval and sent bylaw 113 to the Minister of Municipal Affairs for approval.[1]
At the community information meeting, planner Margot Thomaidis said the project addressed marine waters outside the existing plan designation and land-use bylaw application areas; she said the proposed W1 zone was distinct from M1 zoning in another bylaw.[2]
The recording captures a member of the public asking about M1 and M3 zoning and enforcement; Thomaidis responded that the proposal was for W1, and said enforcement was not related to the bylaws under discussion.[2]
