Thetis trustees add housing priorities to future project list
The list will include alternative dwelling units, ferry-worker housing and possible rezoning for increased density, while a housing review remains a future project.

The Thetis Island Local Trust Committee added three housing topics to its future projects list: strategies for alternative dwelling units, ferry-worker workforce housing and the potential to rezone suitable areas for increased density.[1]
The committee approved the change at its July 4 meeting after discussing a proposal to make housing its major project. Trustees instead supported keeping housing on the future projects list, with the added topics, while regional staff work on trust-wide housing initiatives and an update to housing needs assessments.[1]
The minutes record that the committee endorsed a project charter for an Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw review of marine areas.[1]
On shoreline protection, trustees moved the review to a minor project involving available information and community discussion, and asked the Regional Planning Committee to include the Thetis Local Trust Area in a regional review.[1]
