The Thetis Island Local Trust Committee amended its Shoreline and Coastal Protection Discussion Paper Project Charter to include local and Indigenous information and knowledge, early First Nations engagement and trustee-led community engagement; it also asked staff to apply for Community to Community funding for the project.[1]

The committee’s minutes say the discussion paper was at the “generating ideas stage.” The charter changes included revising a bullet on First Nations engagement to refer to identifying “areas of interests and concerns.”[1]

The committee also told the Regional Planning Committee it intended to undertake policy or regulatory amendments based on recommendations in the Shoreline Protection Model Bylaw Report.[1]
